This washing bag, crafted from untreated nylon, offers a practical and environmentally conscious solution to the issue of synthetic microfibers polluting our rivers and oceans. During each laundry cycle, minuscule fragments of clothing fibers are released and make their way into waterways and seas, too tiny for sewage treatment facilities to properly remove. Once in the environment, these fibers are ingested by aquatic creatures, causing a range of health issues such as gastrointestinal infections, reproductive complications, starvation, and even death. These concerns eventually affect the entire food chain.

The Guppyfriend bag captures micro fibres and hinders them from making their way into the marine ecosystem. After a while you can peel out a ball of fibres and discard it in the plastic recycling bin.

PLEASE NOTE: Liquid detergent should be used and not powder for best results. In tests done by the manufacturer, the Guppyfriend was washed at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Therefore, we do not recommend washing hotter than 40°

The GuppyFriend Washing Bag is designed to combat this issue by letting you wash your clothes as normal while trapping those loose fibres. GuppyFriend are aiming to drastically reduce our level of micro fibre waste with a specially-designed mesh that catches the micro fibres and stores them in the crevices in the bag; ready to remove and dispose of correctly.
