Certified organic soapnuts from Greenfrog Botanics offer you the most natural way to do your laundry and are super gentle so great for those with sensitive, eczema and psoriasis prone skin. Hypoallergenic, antibacterial and antifungal these soapnuts create a gentle natural lather that works on lifting the dirt and stains from your clothes when mixed in with the hot/warm water. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians these soap nuts can be used individually for up to 5 uses, or until the become thin and lose their colour, and then can be placed on your compost.

Soapberries, also called soapnuts, are the small fruit of the Sapindus Mukorossi tree which is found naturally growing in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains. The skin of the fruit contains plant saponin, a natural gentle soap that has been used for centuries to wash skin and clothes working as a surfactant to break the surface tension of the water and create a lather that lifts dirt and grease from the skin and stains from the fabric.

Soapnuts are particularly good for washing coloured woollens, silk and other coloured clothing but can be used for whites. However as they are completely free from chemical brighteners, bright white clothing will eventually take on a more natural colour. Whilst white clothes will not have the same chemically bright appearance when washed with soapnuts, you can achieve a comparable result by adding a laundry booster such as washing soda or lemon juice.
