Semi-Permanent Colour

These natural hair colouring products are semi-permanent and last for approx. 6-8 weeks, depending on the type of shampoo you use.

Please note that natural dyes without chemicals cannot radically change the colour of your hair – white hair cannot become a dark colour and you cannot “bleach” dark hair blonde, as with conventional dyes.

Choosing the Right Colour

Logona Herbal Hair Colours combine with your individual hair colour and hair structure to produce an individual colour result, which is not completely predictable. Fine or very light hair typically binds the hair colour quicker and more intensively than thicker or darker hair. If in doubt you may like to consult with your hair stylist if you have questions about determining your hair structure and colour.

Mixing Herbal Hair Colours

Many users achieve unique and beautiful colour results by mixing two or three hair colours together. Especially in the red and brown colour ranges all imaginable nuances are possible. Mixtures of golden blonde and Sahara produce many variations in the golden to reddish range. Also common among many users is to mix a small amount of Henna Black into a brown or dark red base to darken the colour result.

Colour Chart – Choosing the Shade you want

Herbal Hair Colour Application  - Tips for best results

You will need to wait four to five weeks before using Logona Colours if your hair has been chemicaly coloured. Chemical residual in your hair can affect the colour process. However, Logonal Herbal Hair Colours and Creams are perfectly safe for use directly after perming.

Apply the powder dye as hot as possible without causing discomfort  

Apply to clean dry hair. You can apply it towel dried hair but completely dry is best.

You can mix black tea with the powders to achieve a darker colour.  Remember to remove the leaves from the tea bag as these bags may contain bleach which could affect the colour.

Your hair should not have any product on it such as conditioner or hair spray before dyeing.  

After applying the dye and putting the plastic cap on apply some heat - this can be done by applying a hair dryer for 15 minutes, or sitting in the sun. 

For dark shades leave it on for the maximum 2 hours. 

Use the Logona Colour Plus deep cleanser before dyeing.

Use the Logona Colour Conditioner as a lock in effect after dyeing.  

Tips on Strand Testing

We strongly recommend strand testing as there may be chemicals or ingredients on your hair which you are not aware of which could effect the results.

The best way to do a strand test is to cut a small strand out of your hair, apply the dye and wrap it in cling film. Keep the strand close to your body so the heat from your body helps the dye to work. Leave for 30 minutes and then open to check on the colour.  Dont leave the product on for more than 2 hours as this could discolour the grey.

Covering Grey with Logona Herbal Hair Colours

Please bear in mind that grey is notoriously difficult to cover, however you can achieve very good coverage of Grey hair with Logona herbal hair colours.  You may need to put several coats on depending on the how much grey you have and what shade you want to achieve.

If you put a dye containing a lot of henna on to hair which is more than 50% grey there is a risk that it can give a green or orange tint to it. So for coverage of more than 50% grey start with one, two or three coats of Natural Brown or Brown Umber in the Hair Colour powders, or Nougat brown in the Colour Creams, as these contain very little henna. Use this as a base coat and then if desired repeat with a darker colour or a shade with more henna in it.

Putting several layers of these hair colours on your hair will not damage your hair or have any side effects. You can put another layer on every day.

Natural dyes without chemicals cannot radically change your hair colour, for example hair that is completely white cannot become a dark colour.

You cannot lighten your hair with natural dyes.

Applying heat after applying the dye, such as with a hairdryer, will strengthen the colour.

You can also mix black tea with the powders to achieve a darker colour. Remember to remove the leaves from the Tea bag as these bags may contain bleach.

With natural hair dyes you dont know exactly how a shade is going to turn out on your hair until you try it. You need to experiment to find out what shade and number of applications will achieve the desired results. Always do a strand test first. Once you are comfortable with a particular shade, subsequent colouring is very quick and simple.

Using Logona Herbal Hair Colours on Permed Hair

Logona Herbal Hair Colours and Colour Creams are safe for use on permed hair. You do not need to wait 4-5 weeks after perming, but can colour your hair immediately.
